Opera Area
The Opera area is a very posh and classy neighborhood in Paris. It is called Opera because of the Opera Garnier that is in its very center, yet you may know it mostly because the Department Stores are located there, on the Boulevard Haussmann. Besides the Galeries Lafayette and the Printemps, there are lots of very famous affordable brands there such as Zara, H&M, GAP… So to say, you’ll find pretty much everything there, fashionably speaking. Besides stores, there are numerous restaurants, from italian to Lebanese, from cheap to very expensive. The Café de la Paix still remains as a Parisian must do, so if you have to choose, choose this one. Plus, this café features a huge terrace that is a real delight when the sun shines, and it offers a magnificent view on the Opera Garnier. This building is absolutely amazing, not only is it full of History but it’s also prodigiously sublime. It has a superb golden roof, one of those you can only see in Paris.

Besides the Opera, make sure to go to the Department Stores, just to admire the astonishing Haussmann architecture, as well as the Olympia which is a mythic music hall where artists like Edith Piaf or Gainsbourg performed.
Close to this area, you’ll find the Louvre, the Place de la Madeleine, the Place Vendôme and a little further the Place de la Condorde and the Champs Elysées… Opera is a great base for a touristic stay!
