Great hotel choice for a Mediterranean holiday in South Italy
Hotel Ghala is a little tranquil hotel in the far south-east of Italy, ideal for a relaxing holiday. It is in the small town of Galatone on the Salento peninsula, little south-east from Bari, in a charming and laid back region with a beautiful weather all year round. The Puglia region, as it is called, is a rural area with a lot of history – including the historic city of Lecce dubbed the “the Florence of the South” -, great food, wine and some of Italy’s finest beaches, such as Baia Verde.
The 3-star hotel is in a modern building, and the design is quite stylish and contemporary in a simple yet elegant way. There is plenty of space, both inside and outside – the communal areas are very spacious and ambient, just as the lush green garden next to the hotel. There is a fine restaurant on site as well as a bar, with seating either inside or out in the garden. The rooms are modern, but feel a bit classic from the wooden flooring and couple antique looking pieces. They blend in perfectly with the modern furniture and features, and the overall atmosphere is well blalnced, harmonious and elegant. Needless to say, the rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, as well as other facilities such as safety deposit box and mini-bar. Furthermore the rooms are very reasonably priced, even cheap with Italian standards, definitely very good value. Free car parking is available for guests, something that is not that common inItaly.
