Morocco is a popular tourist destination, it is an exciting country with a fascinating culture, but the going can be tough sometimes, especially in the bigger cities. If someone is after a more relaxing stay and a different experience, there is a beautiful alternative at the foot of the High Atlas mountains, just an hour’s drive from Marrakech in theToubkalNational Park. Choosen by CNN as one of the best eco-lodges in the world, the place known as Kasbah du Toubkal is indeed a unique hotel.

Built using mostly locally available materials and traditional techniques, the beautiful stone and timber building is perched on a high rock outcrop above the BerbervillageofImlil, offering magnificent views of the snow covered mountain ranges in the distance. The building might be natural and traditional, but it provides all the comfort and luxury western visitors need. There are a range of different types of accommodation on offer, from en-suite rooms to apartment style Garden House suites. The staff is exceprionally friendly amd helpful, you’re guaranteed to be treated with genuine Berber hospitality. The food is great, consisting of a combination of Moroccan, Berber and western dishes.
