Conveniently located charming mid-range hotel in Rome
Located a minute from the Repubblica metro station and right across from Teatro Dell’Opera, the 3-star Hotel Selene Roma is in a very convenient location. The Termini station, a major transport hub with trains, airport shuttles, buses and trams, is a short distance, providing easy access to the sights further away, such as the Vatican, as well as the two airports and other parts of Italy. At the same time the Historic Centre – known as Centro Storico, the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain or the Spanish Steps are an easy stroll away. There are many restaurants, cafes, bars in the area, cute little streets, neighborhood markets, old churches and piazzas.
The hotel is in a typical historic residential building, probably from the 1800s, that has been nicely renovated inside while retained its charming old look from outside. It offers spacious, comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean rooms, ranging from singles to family quadruple rooms. The décor is modern but reserved – it’s not one of those ultra contemporary trendy boutique hotels (if you prefer that style, check their new sister hotel, Hotel Dharma) but more of a classic Italian hotel with a homely feel. There are big flat screen TVs in the rooms, Wi-Fi, telephone, A/C and all those extras that make a stay even more enjoyable. A hearty buffet breakfast is included in the price, served in the quaint dining room.
The staff at the reception, Simoné and Lorenzo, are attentive, knowledgeable and helpful, with an eye always on the guests’ needs. Hotel Selene Roma is well known for its great service, it gets excellent reviews on the various hotels forums and guests leave as friends, knowing exactly where to stay when they come back next time to Rome.
