Budget hotel in the center of Barcelona with high class amenities
Hotel Urquinaona is a 1-star hotel in downtown Barcelona, but as far as quality, service and style are concerned it definitely would deserve more. Its location is also excellent, next to Plaza Urquinaona, just few meters away from Gaudi’s modernist buildings, the trendiest shops of Paseo de Gracia, and a short walk from Plaza Catalunya, the Ramblas, Palau de la Musica, Ciutadella Park. It is also right at a metro stop and there are taxi and bus stops next to the hotel, offering direct access to other Barcelona sights such as Tibidabo, Montjuic, National Museum of Catalonia or Park Güell. It’s a lively area with great café, restaurant and bar choices, but it is quiet compared to the noisy and touristy Rambla, and absolutely safe.
Budget hotels are usually very basic and people don’t expect from a 1-star hotel all the services and amenities Hotel Urquinaona offers. The rooms, ranging from single through double to triple, are located on five floors and there is an elevator. The rooms are modern, spacious and comfortable, with a minimalist but elegant décor. If you are after a decent budget hotel in the center of Barcelona, with Hotel Urquinaona you will get much more than you hoped for. You get services and amenities only expected in higher standard hotels, but at a much more affordable price. A great choice by any standard.
