Charming mid-range hotel in vibrant Montparnasse
Montparnasse is a great Paris location, close enough to many of the major sights on the Left Bank even on foot, but far enough from them to retain its authentic local feel. While neighboring Saint-Germain and Latin Quarter are a bit touristy and overpriced, you can still find good deals in Montparnasse and life in general tends to be cheaper. Once the center of artists and great thinkers, it is still a lively and vibrant quarter with excellent restaurants, cafés and bars, cabarets, theaters, cinemas and a bohemian atmosphere. The legendary brasseries La Coupole and La Rotonde were frequented by Pablo Picasso and Ernest Hemingway, and the neighborhood’s landmark Tour Montparnasse offers a unique view on Paris with the Eiffel Tower in it. Getting around in Paris is easy, as it is a major transport hub with several metro lines, buses and of course trains, including the fast TGV, connecting Paris and the provinces.
