Quality budget hotel at the Champs Elysees
The most famous avenue in Paris, and probably in the world, is Champs Elysees. Running from Place de la Concorde – where the Christmas Ferris Wheel is at the moment – to the Arc de Triomphe, there are luxury shops, cinemas, cafés, sweet shops along the way: a place to see and to be seen. It is an area where many of the luxury hotels are located, but you don’t have to be rich – it is possible to find affordable quality accommodation even here.
Located just a stone’s throw away from the Champs Elysees, near the Franklin D. Roosevelt metro intersection, stands Hotel Royal Colisée. A typical Parisian townhouse from outside, there is a little classic Paris boutique hotel inside. It offers a range of rooms, from single rooms to family suites, all classic in style. They are surprisingly spacious and elegant – you wouldn’t expect it in a 2-star hotel. The rates seem to be very reasonable, definitely so for Paris.
Affordable, but you don’t have to compromise on quality and location – you are in the middle of the Paris high life. At the time of our visiting it is almost Christmas, with all the markets, funfairs, muled wine and caviar, but the Champs Elysees shines at any other time of the year. Hotel Royal Colisée deserves a mention for its true charming boutique hotel feel and the very moderate rates.
