Submitted by on August 17, 2011 – 11:20 amNo Comment

Jazz à la Villette , Paris jazz festival

And if you have any doubts, we invite you: check it out yourself! From August 31 to September 11, 2011, the annual Jazz à la Villette is on with a string of musical events under the motto, “Jazz is not dead”.

“The festival offers a diverse repertoire featuring the sounds of electro, hip-hop and punk, as well as more traditional interpretations of jazz for orthodox fans.”

This year Jazz à la Villette will host US-born composer and pianist Randy Weston, as well as popular singer Hindi Zahra accompanied by Tigran Hamasyan, and the ‘father’ of Ethiopian jazz, Mulatu Astatké, among many other artists.
