Sales are regulated by the government in France and take place twice a year : in summer, right before everyone goes on vacation and in winter, right after Christmas. Usually, sales span six weeks. This year it begins June 22nd (today!) and ends Tuesday, July 26th.
Sales are the occasion to find great deals in department stores, boutiques, designer outlets, and even hardware shops since they’re willing to clear out items from the previous season, gradually slashing prices over the course of the sales period. In fact, every wednesday, discounts become greater and sales usually end with discounts that are up to 70% off the price!
