Amorino ice cream

Amorino ice cream

The weather isn’t really nice these days in Paris. It’s a mix of sun, rain and clouds since the beginning of June… And yet, I didn’t forget that tomorrow it’s Summer! For this occasion, and to keep in mind that the sun will be back one day, I selected for you the best ice cream shops of Paris.

Amorino, 31, rue Vieille du Temple, 75004 : Created in 2002 by two Italian people, Amorino is really popular with locals and tourist, making delicate ‘flowers’ of gelato on cones. Interesting flavors include Bacio, the Italian-style ‘kiss’ of hazelnuts and chocolate and Amarena, candied sour cherries embedded in vanilla custard. And for those who are lactose-intolerant, you will be able to find digestive comfort in Amoriso which they say is made with rice and rice milk. There are twelve shops in Paris.

Berthillon, 29, rue St-Louis-en-l’île, 75004 : THIS is the french ice cream shop of Paris! The familial company is really well-known all around the world, for offering amazing ice cream. Well, it’s true! At Berthillon you can eat classic ice creams, but also surprising flavors such as tangerine-chocolate, caramel-peer, mocha-tiramisu… Berthillon is served at many cafés in Paris, which is helpful when they’re closed (second half July, August, Mondays and Tuesdays). Beware of other storefronts nearby which some people confusing think serve glace Berthillon as well. (They’ll always display a Berthillon logo if they do.)

Raimo Glacier, 59-61, boulevard de Reuilly, 75012 : A few meters from the place Daumesnil, you will find at Raimo inventive compositions with original flavors such as ginger, honey cane sugar, pina colada, vanilla nectar and currant. This house brasserie also offers fast food. To eat in or take away.

Ice to Ice, 30-32, bd de Menilmontant, 75020 : The eastern Parisians will enjoy the Gelateria Cafe Ice to Ice, near Ménilmontant, open every day and up to 11 PM. For big appetites, you can accompany your ice cream with waffles and pancakes. In winter, enjoy the pleasures of ice on the heated terrace. It’s a really good place.
